Skull Painting Workshop
Día de Muertos, or Day of the Dead, holds profound significance in Oaxaca, Mexico. This vibrant celebration is a time to honor and remember those who have passed away. Families gather to create beautiful altars, filled with marigolds, papel picado, and favorite foods, to welcome and celebrate the spirits of their loved ones.
In the spirit of this meaningful tradition, we are delighted to invite you to our commemorative black pottery charm painting workshop. This special event will take place at our cozy central space with Sandra, our black pottery host. During the workshop, we will explore the artistry of black clay, learn about production techniques, and engage in a reflective experience. Our host, Sandra, will guide us through painting black pottery skills and shapes while sharing fascinating anecdotes related to this unique craft.
Your experience will include the following:
- History and cultural context of Día de Muertos and Black Pottery in Oaxaca
- All materials necessary to paint two unique charms
- Mezcal or artisan coffee
Children are welcome to participate in this course, but the rate remains the same since their participation requires the same material cost.
