

Guelaguetza Season Drop-In Workshops
Step into the heart of Oaxacan creativity this Guelaguetza season with our special Drop-Ins Welcome Workshop Series at Tlayudona! Whether you’re just arriving in town or soaking up the season’s magic, this open-format event is the perfect way to connect with local culture through hands-on art.
We’re bringing together three of our incredible artisan hosts for this one-of-a-kind series:
🌼 Josefina – Master of natural dyes and traditional weaving in Teotitlán. Josefina will guide through weaving your own piece on a hand loom. Hand-dyed wool included!

🖨️ Ludwing – Talented printmaker and engraver. Lud will guide you through carving and printing your own Oaxaca-inspired design to take home with you.

🦄 Isa – Beloved alebrije artist from Arrazola. Isa will offer you painting guidance as you bring your own miniature wooden figure to life.

Come meet the artists and try out their craft stations, sip a local drink, and soak up the creative energy that makes Oaxaca so special this time of year! No experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to get your hands colorful! These workshops are open to walk-ins and have no firm start/end time other than when our hosts close up shop!
