Folkloric Basket Painting with Azu

Paint your own folkloric design on a locally-woven basket in Tlayudona with Azu!

We are pleased to present another in our new series of collaborations with emerging Oaxacan women artists and crafters.

These experiences are flexible and easy to arrange. The best part? If you’re a solo traveler and don’t require translation, you can book them for just you (with little to no prior notice).

Azucena is a local artist from Oaxaca whose art is inspired by her traditions and culture. She recently studied her BA in Visual Arts with a special emphasis on Graphic Arts. She currently works as an art teacher, primarily with children and teenagers. She believes that we were born to create, and is excited to share that creativity with you.

In this workshop she will give you a brief history and context of local art, crafts, colors, and design before you let out your own inner-artist.

Check the rest of our calendar for additional artistic experiences with Azucena.
