Thank you so much for your interest in our Summer Break Package. Here’s the breakdown of exactly what each day includes. Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions that arise. We are happy to be in touch, and we cannot wait to receive your family! If the exact dates that work for your family are not on our website calendar, please let us know so that we can make an adjustment to accommodate your trip.
Once we receive your reservation, we will be in touch to find out exactly how many people will be participating in order to adjust your remaining balance. We will also need to know of any mobility or dietary restrictions, as well as what sites you are interested in visiting during your customizable driving day. Our Tlayudona Team is here to help you ease the planning burden and optimize your family time!
Day 1 Monte Albán & Hands in Clay Experience:*
Includes:
- Round trip transportation from Tlayudona or your residence to Monte Albán and Atzompa and back.
- Air-conditioned vehicle
- Trip to Monte Albán and Atzompa accompanied by a local translator
- Your entry tickets to Monte Albán archeological site
- Driver, tolls, gas, parking costs
- Homemade meal at our hosts´ home in Atzompa (typical regional food and drink)
- All materials necessary to create your clay masterpieces
- Talk & Demonstration about the history and culture of clay work in Atzompa
- The opportunity to purchase artisan goods directly from local artisans with no intermediary
- Delivery to Tlayudona of your fired clay art within a week of your workshop for pick-up
Does not include:
- Food purchases outside of the meal listed above
- Artisan goods purchases purchases
- Optional tips for your translator, driver, or hosts
- Optional guided tour within the Monte Albán site (each archeological site in Oaxaca has its own certified guides. We highly recommend a guided tour if you would like to learn about the site, and we can help you find a knowledgeable guide at a fair price. Prices are not fixed and are at the discretion of the site´s guides, although guided tours are optional.)
- Shipping of your clay pieces to your country of origin if you choose. (We will provide the service of wrapping your pieces and taking them to a shipping agency, but you are responsible for the cost of all shipping materials and fees. We cannot provide you with the exact amount until your pieces have been wrapped and weighed at a shipping agency. We require proof of payment in order to ship the pieces.)

Day 2 Private Customizable Driving Day:*
Tlayudona´s driving days are completely flexible and customizable. When you purchase your package, we will be in touch with you to help you make the most of this opportunity. Driving days are based on a time-frame of up to 8 hours, although you can add additional hours for 500 MXN per hour. Driving days include all costs associated with the vehicle.

- Help planning your ideal itinerary
- Flexibility and adaptability as your day unfolds.
- Private service for your family
- Control over your rhythms and time spent iin each destination
- Driver, translator, gas, tolls, and parking fees
Because our driving days are 100% customizable, they do not include the costs of hands-on experiences, meals, or entries into any sites. We can help you design an itinerary however and provide you with the approximate costs for what you have in mind so that you are prepared. We can also help you with a packing list once we know what you´d like to do. The sky’s the limit!

*Driving days are private for your group/family so that you have complete autonomy over your itinerary and can make the most of your day.
Day 3 Cooking in the Campo: Tamales Experience:*
Includes:
- Round trip transportation from Tlayudona or your residence to the village of Yatareni
- Trip accompanied by a local translator
- Driver, tolls, gas, parking costs
- Homemade meal at our hosts´ home in Yatareni (typical regional food and drink)
- All materials necessary to create 4 types of mouth-watering tamales
- Talk & Demonstration about the history and culture of the milpa (corn, beans and squash crop)
Does not include:
- Optional tips for your translator, driver, or hosts

Additional experiences are available to add to your driving day, or to schedule outside of your package days. We also provide nannying services with bilingual caregivers, and airport transportation. Ask us about it! We are happy to help.
