Oaxaca is currently in “orange” according to the governmental traffic light system. You can read more information about the current state of the Covid situation here.

The city has oscillated a bit between the economic impulse to open things up and the health/safety concerns that increased activity evoke.  For a while we were in “yellow” (one step closer toward “the new normal”), but we have regressed back to orange due to spike in reported cases.

Masks are deemed mandatory when outside, although responses to this mandate vary based on the municipality.

Here at Tlayudona, we are working on our safety protocol to reduce risk for our hosts and guests as we develop our open-air series of experiences. We are excited to get back out there, and the pilot experiences we have hosted under our new protocol have been wonderful reunions with our hosts, some amazingly loyal clients, and our community in general.  After a long quarantine, it has renewed our faith in community and the importance of learning together. We are looking forward to receiving you soon under this new design, and we sincerely appreciate your patience as we embark upon uncharted territory.

Feel free to contact us via email or through any of our social media accounts to schedule a private, open-air experience for yourself, your family, or small group.
